Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bummed Waited a long time to get this Ott lamp. I was so happy to get it but 6 months after receiving, the pole broke in two where it screwed together. Also, the magnifier needs to be on a longer pole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great light but too short for a floor lamp This light is bright and the magnifying glass is really nice for people losing their close vision like me. However this does not work well behind my machine. The lamp is very short and the arms are short. I can't get the light over my machine where I would like it. It casts a shadow where I actually need the light the most. The magnifying glass will also not reach my work area. However the quality is good if you can make it work for your work area.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deceiving Product Description The product description falsely states that the lamp comes with a "3X magnifier". The magnifier is actually 1.75X (it's right on the box but not on the website) with a spot magnification of 3X but the spot is almost useless. I have this exact lamp but the website led me to believe that I was getting a lamp with a higher magnification (which is what I was looking for.) Oh, what a waste of time - ordering, picking it up, now returning it. It could have been avoided with a clearer description.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not made correctly I bought this lamp/magnifier and when I got it home you have to put the pole together by screwing the two pieces to have the one long pole. It wouldn't stay together. It would split apart and fall over or it would lean. I took it back to the store and they gave me another. That one seemed fine and I loved it. A couple moths later, same problem. The need to have the pole be all one piece and more sturdy and have the base more weighted. Others have complained about this. I wish the manufacturer would come out with something to fix it. I would be willing to pay a bit to get a fix kit. Then correct the new ones they are selling in the future.

I would always spend any extra money on fabric or thread and i put off buying this for years, but now that i have it, i could never do without it. I stitch so much faster now - because i can see so much better! Im super happy with this purchase.
